G.C. Murphy Company Foundation

Founded in 1952 as a charitable arm of the G.C. Murphy Company, the G.C. Murphy Company Foundation is now an independent, non-profit corporation that makes annual grants to civic, educational and cultural charitable organizations, primarily in Western Pennsylvania.

Past recipients of gifts from the G.C. Murphy Company Foundation have included Auberle, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, McKeesport Heritage Center, McKeesport Symphony Orchestra, UPMC McKeesport Hospital, Penn State Greater Allegheny and Womansplace.

Murphy Scholarship

The G.C. Murphy Company Foundation maintains a scholarship fund at Penn State Greater Allegheny campus. Preference is given to descendants of G.C. Murphy Company employees, but if no qualified students apply, other applicants from Western Pennsylvania are considered. Certain restrictions apply.

Individuals who would like to be considered should ask the financial aid counselor at Penn State Greater Allegheny for an application.
